Services

Therapy is tailored to your child's strengths, interests and goals. Below are the areas of communication and learning I most often work with, plus what each can look like in practice.

01

Language delays

Language is how children make sense of the world and tell us about it. Some children take longer to understand language, find the right words, or build sentences — and it can show up at home, at kinder, or at school.

I'll assess what your child understands and what they're using, and we'll set practical goals together that build on their strengths.

  • Understanding instructions and concepts
  • Finding and using new vocabulary
  • Forming clear, complete sentences
  • Telling stories and explaining ideas
  • Following classroom-style language
02

Speech sound disorders

If your child is hard to understand, or there are sounds they're struggling to say, that's where speech sound therapy comes in. We'll work on articulation, intelligibility, and the patterns underneath the sounds — known as phonological processes.

Sessions are playful and structured so progress feels achievable.

  • Producing tricky sounds clearly
  • Being understood by people outside the family
  • Phonological patterns and rules
  • Carrying new sounds into everyday talking
03

Literacy support

Speech pathologists are uniquely placed to support early reading and spelling because the foundations of literacy live in spoken language. I work with children who are getting started, and those who need targeted help to keep up with peers.

  • Phonological awareness (sounds in words)
  • Letter-sound knowledge and decoding
  • Spelling patterns
  • Reading comprehension and oral language for learning
04

Social communication

Social communication is the back-and-forth of being with other people — joining a conversation, taking turns, recognising feelings, and adjusting how we talk in different situations. For some children this comes naturally; for others, it's something we can build together with practice.

  • Conversation and turn-taking
  • Friendships and group play
  • Emotion recognition and self-expression
  • Understanding non-literal language (jokes, idioms)
05

Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

I provide tailored speech and language support for children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, working alongside audiologists, teachers of the Deaf, and the family's wider team. Sessions are individualised to each child's listening, language and communication preferences.

  • Listening and spoken language development
  • Auditory training
  • Language and literacy support
  • Working with hearing technology in everyday life
06

Children with additional needs

Including children with autism, ADHD and other neurodivergent profiles. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming — I see your child for who they are and build communication support around their interests, strengths, and the way they best engage with the world.

  • Functional communication for daily life
  • AAC introduction and support where helpful
  • Language, social and play goals
  • Working in partnership with parents and the wider team
